Unsigned Tune Reviews: Ante Up

Updated: Sep 5, 2019

Bryn Stagg isn't being shy with his debut single, the Low-Fi garage vibes are reminiscent of early noughties Kasabian. When I close my eyes and listen to it, I've got a pint in my hand and and I'm in a field with my mates in 2001 (even though I was a baby then).

Bryn's mysterious ambient vocals almost put you in a trance and the added harmonies are particularly eerie. The hook is super catchy and it's a bit of an earworm, it's super easy listening and it will definitely be making appearances in my future playlists.

This song is something a bit more grungy than the indie scene is currently offering, which is really refreshing. I'd love to hear more tunes with this vibe coming my way soon (please).

I'm quite partial to a tambourine so IMAGINE my excitement when the tambourine kicked in on this track, honestly I don't think you can imagine it.

Overall, I really enjoy listening to this song. If you're into the more grungy end of indie then it's definitely for you!
