1. Muncaster Halloween Festival

Muncaster Castle is hosting a thrilling Halloween Festival jam packed with all sorts of activities.


There will be a scary maze, fire shows, a spooky silent disco and so much more.


It takes place from October 22 to 30, 10:30am to 6pm. 6pm onwards will not be permitted for young children.

2. Ghost Tours at Carlisle Castle



Carlisle Castle will be hosting ghost tours - including stories from history.


They take place from October 28 to 31 at 7pm-8:30pm.


The tours will be happening in the dark and are only suitable for people aged 16+, so expect to be shaking in your boots!

3. Castles not your thing? A Halloween Horror Cinema is taking place at Fleetwith Pike mines




It’s taking place from October 29 to 30 with screenings of The Woman In Black (13+), The Shining (18+), The Conjuring (15+) and Sinister (18+).


Horror films are already scary enough without being underground in the dark - be sure to bring some snacks and blankets for comfort (and maybe a pillow to hide behind).

4. Watchtree Halloween Horror Trail – Over 18s Only!



Watchtree Nature Reserve has a halloween horror trail for people aged 18 and over. It is made to chill even the bravest of people with actors and installations throughout the 5k trail.


It takes place October 29 at 6:30pm and there are prizes for the best dressed!

5. The Brockhole Halloween Experience



Brockhole on Windermere has created a Halloween experience full of thrilling activities.


Their website showcases a huge list of the possible activities taking place like a haunted forest, pumpkin trail, spooky stories, a silent disco and much much more.


These will take place from October 20 to 30, 10am-6pm and October 31 11am-8pm.
