This Hollrmas we headed over to Carlisle’s Christmas markets to see what’s on offer to buy just in time for Christmas!
In the heart of Cumbria’s high street is an abundance of traders offering up homemade and local products at affordable price points.
We even bumped into the Victorian Candle Co., who we covered for Taste Cumbria in Maryport in the summer. They had an array of seasonal inspired wax melts and candles.
The wax melts start from only £3 a piece for scents such as mango and lime and Lavender fields.
The candles are the perfect gift for lovers of Christmas fragrances like spiced clementine and baked gingerbread.

If you are after something a little unconventional then look no further than Chakra whose gifts are perfect for those that are into boho-chic:
They offer hobo bags, handmade crystal necklaces at a fair price of £6, beaded bracelets for just £3, bucket hats and more.
They also sell bespoke tapestry, perfect for decorating your home or keeping you warm on those cold Cumbrian nights.
Shopping for homeware? Then look no further than the Turkish homeware hut that has middle eastern lamps which can retail for well over £100 for only £25.
They also supply Moroccan decorative and usable plates and bowls that are handcrafted with beautiful and intricate arabesque patterns.
Plates start from £10 each or 2 for £15 and the bowls are only £3 each or 2 for £5.
Speaking of Turkish delights, there is also a stall that sells an array of different flavoured Turkish delights such as cherry, lemon and apple. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth.
You should also get yourself over to Chocolate Kiss Co. for some truly indulgent treats.
They offered both classic chocolate flavours like milk, dark and white, as well as adventurous flavours such as peanut brittle, after eights or ferrero rocher.
This is a one stop shop for all things sweet and sumptuous and at £1.50 per chocolate kiss who could say no?
With all these places to shop and more, we were bound to get a bit peckish whilst shopping around.
Luckily for us, there were plenty of food vendors to keep our bellies full and to stay warm in these winter days.
German krakauer sausage for only £6
You can get the staple of any Christmas market with traditional UK, German, Mexican, Italian, Indian, Greek and Lebanese food.
With all of their main dishes being £10 or under, it’s the perfect way to end your shopping day.

If you have room for dessert then fear not! There were many places to choose from.
White chocolate and marshmallow donuts for just £6
We opted for the fresh hot donuts but you can also get churros, pancakes, crepes, waffles or a big bag of pick n mix for £2.19.
